18. Trish Landlord-Tenant Project, Uralla, NSW

Landlord-tenant project - Trish, Uralla with solar panels on roof

Renewable Energy Project: Solar Panels & Energy Efficiency, Anaiwan and Kamilaroi lands

Z-NET Uralla provided a free home energy assessment for this residential rental premises and recommended the premises for one of our interest-free solar PV loans. The landlord had already completed all recommended energy efficiency improvements.

Landlords who apply for a CORENA loan undertake to discuss our scheme with their tenants and to collect no more than half of the tenant’s savings on power bills via a small increase in rent. This is intended to split the benefit of the solar installation roughly equally between tenant and landlord. In this particular case, the premises were currently vacant and the landlord intended to ask future tenants for $5/week more in rent than they would pay without the solar installation.

This project is fully funded – Thank you!

Loan amount: $8,744.80
Installed 19/7/17
Payback term: 6 years

Work details

System installed at the rental property:
4.2kW solar PV
15 x REC 280W twin peak panels
1 x Solar Edge SE5000 inverter
15 x DC optimisers

Reduction in carbon emissions/yr: Equivalent to 1.13 average households using renewable electricity instead of grid electricity
