Renewable Energy Project: Solar Panels, Gundungurra and Dharawal people
The Central Coast Steiner School in Fountaindale NSW is an independent school for students from Early Kindergarten to Year 10. Care for the natural environment is a fundamental underpinning of Steiner education. We educate students to be well-informed and responsible stewards of the world’s natural resources. This investment in solar energy is in alignment with our commitment to a sustainable and just future for all.

The original plan was to install the full 99kW of solar on the school’s new performing arts centre but severe wet weather delayed completion of the new building so the project has now been split into two parts.
On 26 April 2022, the first 30kW of solar was installed on an existing building and the remainder will be installed on the performing arts centre when building is completed.
This project has been fully funded – Thank you!

Expected savings: 127,750k kWh/year and approximately $12,000/year
Reduction in carbon emissions/yr: Equivalent to 23 average households using renewable electricity instead of grid electricity
