Renewable Energy Project: Solar Panels
Mansfield Autism Statewide Services are an independent, not-for-profit organisation who have supported young people and their families living with autism in Victoria for over 50 years. They provide in home and place based care including term therapeutic placements, family camps, respite & acute care, transition to school, employment programs, outreach, vocational placement and professional development training.
Mansfield Autism Statewide Services is currently nearing completion of a major expansion of their services, dubbed Operation Gamechanger, in a new location on a 100 acre farm on the rural outskirts of Mansfield.
It will be home to new facilities and expanded services, so that they can support more families. Operation Gamechanger includes a new Therapeutic Term Placement school campus, residences for students, respite and crisis care, recreational facilities, family camp, equine therapy centre, swimming pool, walking & cycling tracks and professional development training facilities.
This project will involve installing a 99.8kW solar system on their new multi use activity centre and once their loan is paid off, it will save $26,000 per year which can go towards serving the families they work with.

“Operation Gamechanger is our expansion project toward a Centre of Excellence Therapeutic Farm. We are responding directly to overwhelming demand for services. Increasing our capacity means we
can help more autistic children and their families from all over the state and get them off heartbreaking waitlists. So it is wonderful to have CORENA partner with us, to raise the funds for our solar and enable us to tick that extremely important box. Our brave vision is fast becoming a reality and I’m thrilled that solar and all the benefits that come with it, for our environment and to reduce our operational costs, will now be a big part of it.”
