Walpole is a small isolated and somewhat remote town on the South Coast, on the border between the South West and Great Southern Regions of Western Australia, with a permanent resident population of less than 500. Walpole has, like the rest of the country, an ageing population where over sixty percent of the population is aged over 60 years. Due to the size and age of our community the Walpole CRC plays a vital role within the community. They already have some funds to put towards a solar installation but not enough, so they’ve asked for our help.

20 kW grid connect solar PV
JA Solar 370 Watt Mono Split Solar Panel (x54)
Goodwe 3 phase 5kW inverter
Goodwe hydbrid 3 phase 10kW inverter
4x plyontech 2.4 kWhr HV batteries
Total cost: $26,792, with $12,500 to be covered by a no-interest loan from CORENA
Expected savings: at least $4,400/yr; 24,564 kWh/yr
Reduction in carbon emissions/yr: Equivalent to 4.43 average households using renewable electricity instead of grid electricity
