Renewable Energy Project : Solar panels
Springwood Community Kindergarten is a community-owned, not-for-profit early childhood education provider dedicated to fostering young minds and building a sustainable future. Managed by a volunteer parent committee, they deliver high-quality, accessible early learning programs that prepare local children for their foundational school years. A core pillar of their philosophy is environmental stewardship, which is integrated directly into their curriculum to teach the next generation about practical sustainability. Beyond their educational impact, the kindergarten serves as a vital community asset by offering a supportive network for local families.
This project involves the installation of a 10.3kW solar system. Springwood uses the vast majority of their energy during school hours making a battery unnecessary. Their project included the installation of a hot water system timer which will allow them to utilise their solar for hot water heating rather than running the system overnight, maximising their savings. They have also installed consumption and production monitoring which will further allow them to match their consumption to their solar production profile.
